I LOVE THAT TEACHING IDEA

Think of this site as a Pinterest for teachers, without the images, and definitely without all the mouthwatering dinners and baked goods (as tempting as they are).

I Love That Teaching Idea serves as an online collection of teacher created ideas, lessons, topics, and handouts that are free and ready to use in your classroom as soon as you print them out or view them.  Covered is every subject area as well as more general topics such as classroom management, general assessments, and character education among others.  While the suggested grade levels for the materials are generally in the K-6 range, they could be adapted easily for high school students as well.

The ideas presented are submitted by educators for review and have been utilized successfully in other classrooms.  Everything on the site is free for education use, as per their terms and conditions, so feel free to print and run with anything without fear of infringement.

My only criticism of the site is the organization within the subjects.  It appears as though new resources are aded in the ordern in which they were submitted and not by subtopic, or even alphabetically for an easy search or skim through.  However, don’t let that deter you: as you plan this weekend, give I Love That Teaching Idea a peek for a new activity or perhaps an idea for how to tweak your own.

Potential use in the classroom:  As a teacher resource for new activities and plans.

Recommended grade levels:  K-6, lower level middle school and can be adapted for high school.
