The Current War — Edison v. Tesla
Since the opening of 2013 brings to a close the life of the incandescent light bulb, I thought it appropriate that the first infographic of the new year help illustrate the contentious battle to bring not only the light bulb, but electricity as a whole into our homes. At the turn of last century, a fierce battle was waged between rival scientists and inventors Thomas Edison and Nikolas Tesla over whose system or relaying current, direct and alternating, respectively, would carry this new power forward.
